They have top-of-the-line motors that can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. And, like other top iRobot models (including the top choice), they use smart mapping technology to design precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also have a feature called carpet boost that boosts the robot's performance when it spots a lot of dirt on the carpet, allowing it clean quickly.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on bare floors They are also adept in cleaning hair from dogs. There are some issues however, which prevent them from being our first option. For one, the Q5's navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to become entangled in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tight spaces very well in our tests. It also doesn't come with an image sensor that lets it see the corners of an area.
Still, it's very good for those who want to save money on an iRobot Roomba and you have a bare-floored home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and can work while you're at work or going to school. The only thing it's missing that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle, however. If you need to mop, the mopping pad can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of minutes.
2. IRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that can also mop floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and efficient in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also has strong suction and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the best robotic hoover for carpets, but it isn't as effective as some of its competitors when it comes to deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensors to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time to ensure cleaner and more efficient cleaning. You can modify its cleaning schedule and set up zones using the app that is well-designed. It has a battery lifespan that is comparable to other models.
It is possible to instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and to extend them when in a room with carpet to prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also great to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It's a little more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically emptys into its base, and it supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming, a feature that we've not seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
The robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba model than the boxy models from the competitors. It's one of our most attractive robot vacuums. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also its smartest. It features advanced features such as enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads autonomously).
It's the only robot vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can completely self-refill and empty its base station and boasts an its own self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It has an intuitive mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This could be a concern in the mornings before work or at night when you are trying to sleep.
It's also a bit expensive, but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. If you're willing to live some more volume and some extra cost this is a powerful two-in-one that will delight most.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot mop and vacuum. It comes with a variety of advanced features that help you forget your chores. websites is a hands-free cleaner like Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically emptys the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, and washes and dries the mop pads.
The smart robot uses a combination of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and identify obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its more expensive rivals. It also has a front mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time, though this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was often confused with power cords or obstructions.
The vacuum cleaner has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to accomplish the task. It also comes with a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house based on how dirty these areas are.
If you have a larger home, you should consider choosing a model that has spot or zone cleaning mode. This lets you tell the robot which area of your house needs to be cleaned with the help of an app or voice command. If you have a lot of furniture, a stair mode is also a good option. For families with busy schedules, a recharge feature and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to continue from where it left off could be very useful.
5. iRobot Roomba RX3
The RX3 is more intelligent than the price suggests. It's a pro at cleaning, removing 55% of the debris we found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion, which does a better job cleaning than the other robot mop cleaners we've tried. It's also self-sufficient with a fully-featured app, and a self emptying base that is washable.
The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through an initial mapping session that collects data about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, plan the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritize your most filthy rooms to ensure better performance. The app also gives access to a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.
Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it can reach corners and under furniture more easily. It also has strong 8000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner that will thoroughly clean a specific area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker more affordable alternative to iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its style, much like Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like adorable eyes. It does a good job vacuuming but is more prone to be caught by low thresholds and is a bit noisier than the other top robot vacuums we've examined. It also has a less user-friendly app and a small base station that can't be used as an emptying bin.
